Jax Connelly (they/she) is a non-binary writer whose creative nonfiction explores the intersections of queer identity, constructions of language, unstable bodies, and mental illness. Their work has received honors including a Notable in the Best American Essays 2019, first place in the 2019 Prairie Schooner Creative Nonfiction Essay Contest, and the 2018 Pinch Literary Award for Creative Nonfiction, among others, and has appeared or is forthcoming in Ruminate, Pleiades, The Rumpus, Zone 3 Literary Journal, Fugue, and more.
