How he made it

again my fatherunclecousins begin;
at first, it was chaos and flight
then, dull ache:             smallness     in wait
lastly, life:
precariously stitching threads of was             into becoming.

all played out on scores of sadness and ceding promise;
where another voice sings another refrain and another voice joins
and allatonce I am steeped in the ubiquity of me.
and I am ex-hausted
of hearing myself;
silence never sounded so sweet as the disc ending            and the din beginning.
what privilege it is, to know calm        like this.

ELJAE‘s poetry centres on the doing of relationships, and how we create ourselves as people. Published in a smattering of collections, Eljae is excited to now share with you this small offering of herself: only made possible by the good fortune of being exposed to, and writing with, her cultural and creative peers. Her next step is to publish her first pamphlet, which she hopes will invite you to understand how she has created herself.
