RE PAST
I hate Thanksgiving I always have I’m a good cook
it’s not the cooking part I hate but I can’t entertain
the myth
when it’s really just dinner with no magic to keep or
give away
no strangers at the table but the living gifts I miss like
the people who aren’t anymore
I feel what’s left out how leftovers depress me like this
once-a-year show
to make a meal of it what we need today is less of that.
